Balloons Over Reykjavík, by the Official Drawing Person of Reykjavík

I have heard that important humans and cities have official photo-graphers.

My Reykjavík does not have this. It only has an official drawing person.

Her name is Rán, and this summer she made many good drawings of humans and buildings and balloons and other things.

Do you not believe this? Well, then you should look at this moving picture:

Because Rán is very clever, she did not only make drawings. She also made a book for you, with eighty pages and many, many drawings. And many words about the drawings, in íslenska and útlenska.

And because the official drawing person is a "big deal" in my Reykjavík, the mayor (who is very busy and important) writes a fore-word.

"Do you remember last summer when the sun was shining and we sunbathed on the benches on Laugavegur? When a woman dressed to the nines slipped on a banana peel on Bankastræti as people in whale costumes watched her in surprise?"
- From the fore-word by Mr. Jón Gnarr who is the mayor of Reykjavík

Now you are thinking "Iceland, I am also a very busy and important person! And I do not have time for this! Just tell me why I should buy this book with my wallet!" To which I would say, "Because you are a clever person who likes good things made by good people."

Bless bless,
- Iceland

P.S. If you like books with drawings of my Reykjavík, maybe you will also like this book with photo-graphs of it.
